BC PNP Draw Invites 222 Workers, Entrepreneurs, and Graduates
Canada through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has invited a total of 222 international graduates, workers, and entrepreneurs in the province’s latest immigration draw. The draw took place on April 20, 2017, where 16 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued to Entrepreneur candidates. The remaining 206 were issued to candidates in five sub-categories managed through the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). All individuals who received an ITA in this particular draw are now in a position to submit an application for a provincial nomination certificate. With this certificate, they may then apply to the federal government for Canadian permanent resident status.
The SIRS is a points-based system that ranks and selects eligible candidates across a range of sub-categories. When an eligible candidate registers through SIRS, he or she is assigned a points score and enters a selection pool for the category in which he or she has registered. It is important to note that, candidates can register under one category only. The top ranking candidates are with issued ITAs in the periodic draws conducted by the province. Also, note that ITAs issued in the BC PNP are different to the ITAs issued at the federal level in a federal Express Entry draw.
