As a new method of selecting and managing applications for immigration to Canada, Express Entry is a quick and efficient electronic system that allows candidates to apply for permanent residence.
Express Entry is used to manage applications for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Provincial Nominee Program.
In order to qualify for this system, applicants must supply information about their qualifications, work experience, education, language ability and age. Based on these factors, applicants are awarded points according to the Comprehensive Ranking System and a total score is tallied for each individual.
Successful applicants are then entered into the Express Entry pool where Canadian employers are able to select candidates with the skills and expertise that they are looking for before issuing a formal invitation to apply for permanent residence. Read more here.
