New questions added to the Express Entry system to reflect recent changes
Express Entry candidates who may be affected by the recent changes to the immigration system have been asked by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to log onto their online accounts. The Express Entry immigration candidates to Canada will then be required to answer new questions that have been added, once completed, the affected candidates may be awarded additional points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
The IRCC have emphasised that not all Express Entry candidates will be affected by the changes.
The IRCC made improvements to the CRS and they were implemented on November 19, 2016. The main changes include the awarding of points for certain job offers made to workers in Canada who do not have a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), additional points for a Canadian education and extending the validity period of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence.
The IRCC have stated that Express Entry draws will begin again in the next few weeks, and this will give enough time to those candidates affected by the changes to update their Express Entry profiles.
