On 1 November, 2018, a combined 926 people were issued EOIs (Expression of Interests) in the biggest Occupation In Demand draw and latest Express Entry draw in Saskatchewan!
The province lowered the minimum score needed to apply to allow more people than ever apply for permanent residence in the province.
Of the 926 people offered EOIs, 671 came from the Occupation In-Demand subcategory. Candidates were invited if they scored 61 out of a possible 100 points on the assessment grid.
The International Skilled Worker Expression of Interest System?
This system was created in July, 2018 to help manage candidates under the Occupations In-Demand subcategory. The International Skilled Worker Expression of Interest System takes into account anyone who is interested in becoming a permanent resident of the province.
This system is also a way to help control processing times for applicants who applied through the Occupations in Demand category for Saskatchewan immigration purposes. The aim of the system is to reduce processing times for these popular streams and help lower waiting times.
How Does the SINP EOI Selection Work?
Step 1 - Apply online on the SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) system and create your own EOI Profile. Your profile includes information like your:
- Name;
- Date of birth;
- Country of birth;
- Contact information;
- Current passport number; and
- Residential address;
You must also fill in eligibility factors like your:
- Occupation; and
- Consultant (if you hire one)
You must also complete an assessment grid that considers factors like your:
- Age;
- Education level;
- Work experience;
- Family support in Canada; and
- Language skills

Step 2 - submit your profile into the EOI pool to show that you want to become a permanent resident of the province.
Step 3 - meet the criteria to be selected from the pool through an EOI draw. You can normally qualify if you score 60 out of 100 for the assessment grid that we talked about in step 1.
Step 4 - get an ITA for the SINP. Just remember that you must apply within 60 days to complete your application or you cannot continue the process. You can do this when you log in to your OASIS account. Simply click on the Start Part 1 of Application.
Step 5 - supply additional documents needed to complete your application along with a non-refundable CAD$300 application fee.
Express Entry Draw Invites 255 to Saskatchewan

This subcategory, as the name implies, is linked to the Federal Express Entry system. For those of you who want to immigrate to Canada quickly, this is the program for you. The average processing time for Express Entry applications is just six months! No wonder it has become so popular.
