Some of the major benefits of working remotely include less distractions, lower costs to the employer and employee, a comfortable working environment and a renewed sense of family unity. Any disadvantages can be easily addressed by adapting a work from home culture, with new policies and procedures that are applicable to the situation. How You Can Immigrate to Canada
If you have the right skills and perhaps a qualification, you could be eligible for the Express Entry System. The government of Canada is planning to welcome 401,000 immigrants to the country as permanent residents this year. 108,500 will be through Express Entry. The beauty of this immigration system is that you do not require a job offer to apply, and that if your profile is selected, processing takes as little as six months.
How the Express Entry System Works
The system is made up of three programs. Depending on your skills and qualifications, you will be automatically assigned to one of the program’s pools when you complete your online profile. The information you provide will be used to calculate a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. If your score is high enough, you will be selected in one of the bi-monthly draws that take place and issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency. The three programs are as follows:
- Skilled Worker Program - if you have work experience and a qualification as a manager or in a professional occupation, such as software engineers, tech and IT professionals, you may be eligible for this program;
- Skilled Trades Program - If you have at least 2 years of experience or a qualification as a skilled trades worker as well as a job offer or certification from a Canadian national or provincial body, you may be eligible for this program. Eligible occupations include but are not limited to mechanics, carpenters, welders and plumbers and pipefitters.
- Canada Experience Class - if you have at least one year of experience working in Canada under a TFWP, and work in an occupation eligible for one of the above categories, you will go into this pool which receives preference over the other two. This is because you have shown that you can already function in Canadian society.
There are numerous other programs available, such as the Provincial Nomination Program which allows skilled and semi-skilled foreign workers to apply directly to the province of their choice for a nomination for permanent residency in Canada. If their skills or occupation is in demand in that province, they may be successful.
