Moving to Canada has become a lot easier through the Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs. These programs fast-track the applications of eligible candidates to Canada and could get them there in as little as six months. The Provincial Nominee Program is an extension of Express Entry but is province-specific. This allows each province to tailor the PNP to meet its individual needs. Saskatchewan is one of the provinces that encourage the immigration of skilled workers through their Provincial Nominee Program. See below for the low-down on eligibility, and how we can help you bring your Canadian dream to life.
Do I Qualify?
Eligibility is based on a number of factors. Across all programs, there is a general list of criteria that functions as a prerequisite to move to Canada. This includes but is not limited to age, occupation, level of education, level of experience within the skilled occupation, language proficiency in English and French as well as the ability to adapt to life in Canada after moving there.
In addition to the general list of criteria, each province will have it’s individual requirements. For Saskatchewan, the criteria are as follows:
- Score a minimum language score of at least 4 on the Canadian Language Benchmark.
- Have completed post-secondary education, training or apprenticeship that's comparable to the Canadian education system of at least one year in length.
- For education obtained outside Canada, you are required to submit an educational credential assessment (ECA) from a designated organization.
- One year of work experience for skilled professionals.
- Two years of work experience for skilled trade workers.
