1. Take the Express Path.

The Express Entry system was designed to fast-track the Canadian visa application process and has effectively done so. You can now expect your application process to take a mere 6 months compared to other programs which could only be processed within 12 months or more, depending on where you apply from.

The Express Entry system manages 3 federal economic immigration programs and allows applicants with highly skilled occupations, such as doctors, lawyers, accountants, and financial managers, for example, to create an online profile containing information about your age, work experience, education, and qualifications, language ability, and adaptability.

Every 2 weeks your profile is entered into a draw pool where you will be ranked against other applicants. If successful, you will receive an ITA for permanent residence.

2. Find a Province Where Your Occupation is In Demand and Apply Through 1 of 11 Provincial Nominee Programs

As a highly skilled person, you may have a great chance of receiving an ITA through the Express Entry system, however, this does not guarantee that you will find a job once you move to Canada.

One of the best ways to immigrate to Canada is to apply for a visa through a Provincial Nominee Program that has an Express Entry category. You can apply through the PNP if you do not qualify for the Express Entry system however have a job offer in 1 of 11 of Canada’s provinces and territories. If your occupation is in demand in your territory or province of choice, you increase your chances of receiving a PN (Provincial Nomination), which is worth 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System). The maximum CRS score you can get is 1200 which means that by having a PN you are already halfway to getting an ITA.

Another benefit to applying through a PNP with an Express Entry category is that by having an Express Entry profile, provinces and territories will be able to select eligible candidates directly from the Express Entry draw pools., thereby maximizing your chances of success.
