How Do I Apply for My Canadian Visa?
As mentioned earlier, there are so many ways to immigrate to Canada in administration in 2020 but to make things just a little bit simpler we’ve broken down our top 4 options to move to Canada as an administrator.

1. The Express Entry System
The Express Entry system manages 3 Canadian federal economic immigration programs:
- The Skilled Worker Program;
- The Skilled Trade Worker Program; and
- The Canadian Experience Class Program.
If your administrative occupation is classified at level 0, A or B, you could apply through the Federal Skilled Worker Program if you meet the necessary requirements and score a minimum of 67 out a maximum 100 points. Once you have created an Express Entry profile, your application will be entered into draws twice per month for up to a year or until you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency in Canada. Your profile will be ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and if you are among the highest-scoring applicants, you will receive an ITA. The best part, your application could be processed in as little as 6 months!
2. Provincial Nominee Program
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) requires that you have a full-time job offer in a province where your job is in demand. As we’ve already established, administrative jobs are in demand in four provinces and territories, namely British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Nova Scotia. Each province or territory has its own PNP and requirements that must be met to be able to apply for a provincial nomination (PN). What's so great about a PN you ask? It’s worth 600 extra CRS points, which basically ensures that you’ll get an ITA for permanent residence.
Bonus tip: to speed up processing times, choose an Express Entry-linked PNP (if you qualify) and express interest in a province or territory when you create your profile. This will give the province or territory a chance to choose your profile straight from the Express Entry draw pool, cutting your processing time from 15-19 months (if you apply directly to your province or territory) to 6-8 months which means you could end up in Canada in under a year!
3. The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot
To apply for Canadian permanent residency through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot all you will need is a valid full-time job offer in one of the 11 participating communities in order to immigrate to Canada. Seeing as administrative jobs are in-demand in British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, you may want to take a look at these communities:
- Brandon, Manitoba
- Altona/Rhineland, Manitoba
- Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
- Vernon, British Columbia; and
