Alberta

Alberta is one of the most beautiful provinces in Canada. Here you will find some of the country’s iconic natural features, like Banff National Park, the Canadian Rockies and Lake Louise. The capital city is Edmonton, the festival city; however, people flock to Calgary where everyone enjoys a truly first world cosmopolitan life. In 2018, Alberta introduced the following two immigration streams.

1. Express Entry Linked Stream

Now for the first time, Alberta is able to nominate individuals from the well known Express Entry pool. As you might have heard by now, the Express Entry program is one of the fastest ways to immigrate to Canada; it can take as little as six months for your application to be processed.

With its introduction, Alberta will enjoy a great influx of immigrants ready to make Canada their new home. In order to be successful under this program, you will have to have a high comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score. This number is based on your core human capital which consists of factors like language ability, work experience, education etc. Keep your CV updated and brush up on your French and English to get to Alberta, Canada the express way.

This stream targets people who are already working in Alberta and replaces the old Employer-Driven Stream and Strategic Recruitment Stream. You can qualify for this program if you have been working full-time in a position and if you meet the minimum core human capital level desired by the province.

Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia is one of the three Canadian maritime provinces. It is also one of the smallest provinces, second only to Prince Edward Island. The capital city is the renowned Halifax. The province is famous for its seafood, its even seen as the lobster capital of Canada - delish! If you love the ocean this is the place for you as it is nearly entirely surrounded by the deep blue sea.

There are multiple routes you can take to make Nova Scotia your new home and we are happy to say the list keeps growing with the:

3. Labour Market Priorities Stream

This stream is designed to attract people who have the skills and work experience needed in Nova Scotia. Early childhood education has been identified as one of the areas where a shortage of skills exists. The idea behind the stream is to grow the province’s population while improving the lives of all of its citizens.

This stream is also linked to the Express Entry system, so we recommend you apply under this category, if you are interested in fast immigration. To find out more about the specific requirements of Express Entry or any other Canada immigration program get in contact with us here.

4. Physician Stream

If you are a doctor and you are hoping to immigrate to Canada, you are in luck, because Nova Scotia desperately needs you. The Physician Stream is a very defined stream, specifically targeting general practitioners, specialist physicians and family physicians. Apart from having work experience in one of these occupations, you must also have a job offer from an appropriate Nova Scotian Medical authority.

Newfoundland and Labrador

Newfoundland and Labrador used to be a country all on its own, until 1949, when it joined the Canadian confederation - and we are so glad they did. In this maritime province, nature takes centre stage. It is one of the least densely populated places in Canada and for that reason, it is the perfect area to carve out your own piece of paradise. The following two categories make it even easier for Entrepreneurs and Investors to make the province their new home.

5. International Graduate Entrepreneur Category

As the name implies, this category is for old students. However, in order to be eligible for the International Graduate Entrepreneur Category, you must have graduated from either Memorial University or the College of the North Atlantic in Newfoundland and Labrador. You must also hold a valid work permit and the intention to establish, manage or co-own a business in the province.

6. International Entrepreneur Category

This is a more general entrepreneurial category targeting people who would like to establish, manage or co-own a business in the province. If you are accepted into this category you will be given a Temporary Work Permit that you can use to start your entrepreneurial ventures in Newfoundland and Labrador.
