The 27th Express Entry draw invites 1505 people for Canadian Immigration

There have been a few Express Entry Draws that have taken place since the beginning of 2016, issuing a total of 5954 Canadian immigration invitations. The most recent draw on the 10th February 2016 saw 1505 invitations being sent out to lucky applicants who can now apply for the various immigration programs.

Since the previous draw, the Comprehensive Ranking Points system which tallies the applicants’ points according to certain factors, including education, skill level, experience, and age, has increased marginally. Each of the draws contains a group of applicants who have not received a job offer or have not been nominated by a province.

Once applicants are selected for the Express Entry pool, they have 6 months to apply online for their particular visa program. The government then aims to process the application within 6 months.

How does Express Entry work?

The program is an electronic process which involves both the federal and provincial government, as well as Canadian employers.

Applicants can register electronically under Express Entry by providing the following information:

  • Skills
  • Work experience
  • Education
  • Language
  • Abilities

The Canadian Government will then select candidates based on their credentials and invite them to apply under the Federal Immigration Programs such as the Federal Skilled Workers Program or the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
