1. Express Entry

The Express Entry System is definitely one of the most popular options for Turkish newcomers to move to Canada. It’s not only one of the fastest ways to move to Canada, with an average visa processing time of as little as 6 - 8 months but it is also extremely efficient and easy to apply for a visa through its online portal.

This option is perfect for you if you are highly skilled as, for example, a doctor, nurse, tech professional, a construction supervisor, electrician or even an industrial butcher. You will be scored according to the Comprehensive Ranking System System (CRS) based on factors such as your age, language skills, education, work experience and adaptability to Canada and will then receive a score. 2. Provincial Nominee Program

Most Turkish immigrants find themselves living and working in Ontario or Quebec, but the truth is that there are so many other wonderful communities with missed opportunities in Canada. In fact, the Turkish communities are rapidly growing in provinces such as British Columbia and Alberta. There are even four Turkish festivals held in Canada, namely Toronto (Ontario), Ottawa (Ontario), Edmonton (Alberta)and Calgary (Alberta).

If you already know where you want to live in Canada and have started your job hunt, you’re on the right track to getting a provincial nomination and fast-tracking your application for a Canadian visa. The Provincial Nominee Program was created to address the specific labour needs of each individual province or territory.

Having a provincial nomination (PN) to apply for permanent residence in Canada is a sure-fire way to all but guarantee to move to Canada. The average score for Express Entry draws are between 470 and 530, and seeing as a PN is worth an extra 600 extra PR or CRS points, you’ll be well on your way to join the Canadian community in no time at all!

Post Graduate Work Permit Program

If you are yet to get your post-secondary qualification, you may want to consider studying in Canada. Not only does it have some of the most stellar educational institutions in the world, but it could also provide you with the opportunity to stay on and work in Canada after you’ve graduated! This applies to post-grad, master and PhD programs as well as technical or trade certifications. There are however a few criteria that must be met.

For example, it is imperative that you choose a Designated Learning Institution if you want to be eligible to apply to work in Canada through the Post Graduate Work Program (PGWP). It is also very important that you make sure that your program is at least 8 months long to qualify. It is, however, important to note that the PGWP is not an immigration program but an immigration pathway as it allows you to gain the necessary Canadian work experience to apply for permanent residency status through programs such as the Canada Experience Class (CEC).

Temporary Foreign Work Permit Program

Now once again, this is not a way to permanently move to Canada but merely a route to take to Canadian immigration. Working in Canada on a temporary basis allows for three things:

1. Test the waters and see if Canada is actually the right fit for you and your family; 
2. Faster processing times (depending on where you are applying from; and
3. Allows you to gain valuable Canadian work experience and apply for permanent residency through the CEC if you are a highly skilled worker or through various other immigration programs such as the Saskatchewan Work Experience Stream after just 6 months of work.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot

If you adore the ocean breeze coupled with fantastic job opportunities and small city living then you may want to take a look at The Atlantic Immigration Pilot. The Turkish community seems to be expanding in Atlantic Canada too, particularly in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

There are 4 provinces to choose from, including Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, each with its own set of labour demands that need to be met.

In order to qualify you will need to have at least one year of work experience in a high to semi-skilled occupation (Skill Type 0, level A, B or C) and have a full-time job offer in one of these four provinces or have graduated from an Atlantic publicly funded university or college and have lived in the province for at least 16 months if you’d like to apply through the graduate program.
