Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker Express Entry streams Update

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) also known as Saskatchewan’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has made a number of important updates to their International Skilled Worker streams.

Due to the province’s high quality of life and thriving economy, there has been a sturdy influx of international newcomers over the years. Through this program, immigrants with certain skills and work experience may apply for a Saskatchewan Provincial Nomination Certificate and if they are successful, they can then apply for Canadian permanent residence.

The SINP program is divided into three sub-categories namely, International Skilled Worker i.e. Saskatchewan – Express Entry and Employment offer and Occupations in-Demand.

The updates for the each sub-category are as follows:

International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry

This stream is now open to 500 additional applications. This sub-category is specifically for skilled workers who are already in the federal Express entry pool and have the necessary skilled set and experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan. This stream has been opened four times in 2015 and again in January, 2016; and fills its application intake rapidly, often within a matter of days. Because this is an enhanced immigration stream, all applicants with a successful nomination will be awarded 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) at a succeeding draw from the Express Entry pool.

International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer

If you are a skilled worker with a skilled job offer from a Saskatchewan employer, then this sub-category is for you.  Applications are still being accepted for this steam.

The International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand

This sub-category has reached its capita of applications for 2016. This sub-category is for highly-skilled workers with experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan and no job offer in the province.
